Position overview

Delta Utilities is seeking a results-driven Treasury Manager to lead and manage the company’s treasury operations, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment activities.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of corporate finance and treasury operations, and the ability to develop strategies that optimize liquidity and financial stability. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily cash flow operations, including cash positioning, forecasting, and reporting
  • Monitor and manage liquidity to ensure the company meets its operational and strategic financial needs
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to support decision making
  • Evaluate and implement strategies to optimize working capital
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to negotiate favorable terms for banking services, loans, and credit facilities
  • Oversee bank account structures, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with debt covenants and reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement policies to manage financial risks, including interest rate and credit risks
  • Monitor investment performance and recommend strategies to maximize returns while safeguarding principal investments
  • Ensure compliance with investment policies and relevant regulations
  • Manage treasury-related systems and software, ensuring efficient and accurate reporting
  • Oversee payment processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and controls
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in treasury operations
  • Provide treasury-related insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic planning
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and other departments to align treasury objectives with broader business goals
  • Assist in evaluating funding options for capital projects or acquisitions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Five to seven years of experience in treasury management, corporate finance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of cash management, financial risk management, and banking operations
  • Proficiency in treasury management systems, ERP systems, and financial modeling tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data analysis
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage external relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CTP, CFA)
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as utilities, energy, or financial services
  • Familiarity with interest rate risk management strategies Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to treasury activities

In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
