Manager, Corporate Communications

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Delta Utilities is seeking a Communications Manager will develop and execute strategic communications initiatives that build Delta Utilities' brand reputation, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support business objectives. This role will be responsible for managing all external communications, including media relations, customer communications, community outreach, and crisis communications. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing skills, media relations experience, and the ability to translate complex utility information into clear, compelling messaging for diverse audiences.

 

***The position can be filled as a Manager or a Senior Manager depending on qualifications.***

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that align with Delta Utilities' business goals and support our service territory expansion
  • Create and maintain a communications calendar that ensures consistent, timely messaging across all channels
  • Manage the development of key messaging and talking points for company spokespeople
  • Track and analyze communications effectiveness using relevant metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and operational teams to ensure integrated, consistent messaging

Media Relations

  • Serve as primary media contact and company spokesperson when appropriate
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts in our service territories
  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and statements
  • Prepare executives and subject matter experts for media interviews
  • Monitor media coverage and manage the company's response to inquiries
  • Develop crisis communications plans and lead response efforts during service disruptions or other incidents

Content Development

  • Create compelling content for external audiences, including press materials, customer communications, website content, and social media
  • Oversee the development of fact sheets and other corporate materials
  • Ensure all communications reflect Delta Utilities' brand voice and adhere to style guidelines

Stakeholder Communications

  • Develop communications strategies for engaging with key stakeholders, including customers, community leaders and industry partners
  • Create targeted communications to support the transition of gas service from Entergy to Delta Utilities
  • Coordinate community events and public meetings to build awareness and support for company initiatives
  • Partner with government affairs to support regulatory communications

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field

 

Minimum experience required of the position

Manager:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or related field

Senior Manager: 

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or related field


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Experience in utilities, energy, or regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic communications plans
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong media relations experience with a track record of securing positive coverage
  • Crisis communications experience, particularly in infrastructure or service-related industries
  • Proficiency with digital communications platforms and social media management
  • Strong project management abilities and experience managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
