Storekeeper
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Storekeeper serves as a lead role within the storeroom team, responsible for overseeing materials management, directing storeroom personnel, and ensuring efficient, safe, and organized operations. This role requires prior experience and a strong knowledge of inventory procedures and materials identification.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct the work of other storeroom employees.
- Issue and receive materials and supplies with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain and audit storeroom records for accountability and traceability.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Ensure all materials are properly identified and organized by type, size, and serial number.
- Apply and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Know the location and proper use of various firefighting equipment.
- Participate in and lead safety meetings as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum experience required of the position
- Three (3) years of experience as a Storeroom Assistant or equivalent related work experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
- Proficiency in storekeeping procedures and use of storeroom records
- Strong ability to identify and classify materials by type, size, and serial number
- Familiarity with and adherence to company safety rules and procedures
- Knowledge of firefighting equipment locations and operation
- Ability to operate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)

- Valid automobile and truck operator’s license (or ability to qualify)
- Forklift Operator Certification
