Manager, AMI Meter Operations Center
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Delta Utilities is seeking an AMI Meter Operations Center Lead/Manager is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the operations of the Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and Automated Metering Operations Center (AMOC). This role involves ensuring the integrity and accuracy of meter data, identifying and resolving technical issues, resolving error codes and alerts from the AMI system, leading the upgrades and patches to the AMI meters and systems, and providing support to field personnel, billing team and customers. The Lead/Manager will work with various software applications and tools to ensure seamless operation and compliance with industry standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- AMI Operation Management: Manage and direct the managed service provider (MSP) in the operations and support of the AMI meters, network, platform, and systems.
- System Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of the AMI system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Identify and address any anomalies, communication failures, or system outages.
- Data Analysis: Analyze AMI meter data to detect usage patterns, trends, and potential issues. Validate and reconcile meter data with billing systems to ensure accuracy.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical problems related to AMI meters, communication networks, and software applications. Coordinate with field personnel and create and track work orders to address hardware and network issues or meter replacements and repairs.
- Product & Project Management: Lead the upgrades, patches, testing of the AMI Platform and systems on a routine basis to keep products current and under maintenance and compliance.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute detailed reports on meter performance, data quality, and system health. Provide insights and recommendations to improve system efficiency and accuracy.
- Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries related to meter data, usage discrepancies, and technical issues. Provide clear and accurate information to resolve concerns.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, engineering, field operations teams, billing and revenue assurance teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the AMI system. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to lower-level staff and new hires on AMI system operations, data analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Lead Level: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in AMI system operations, data analysis, utility operations or a related field.
- Manager Level: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AMI deployment, operations and maintenance (O&M), data communications, cybersecurity, and integration with IT/OT systems.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ITRON AMI meters and Headend (HES) systems, data analysis tools, and software applications. Strong understanding of metering principles and communication networks.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and anomalies.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors and build positive working relationships.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
