Analyst, FP&A (Operations & Maintenance | Expense Reporting)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Delta Utilities is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team with a focus on Operations & Maintenance (O&M) expense reporting and analysis. This role will support monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial reporting and variance analysis related to O&M costs, helping to ensure budget alignment and operational transparency. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their finance career while gaining hands-on experience in forecasting, accruals, and business partnering.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and YTD reports comparing actuals to budget and forecast for O&M expenses.
  • Analyze variances and provide supporting commentary to explain key drivers.
  • Prepare and enter monthly accruals related to O&M expenses in coordination with Accounting.
  • Support the monthly financial close process, including reconciliation and validation of cost center data.
  • Partner with business units and cost center owners to gather forecast inputs and ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Maintain financial models, schedules, and templates used in O&M tracking and reporting.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with accurate and timely data inputs.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for improved expense tracking and reporting processes.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field such as Math, Data Analytics or Statistics.


Minimum experience required of the position

  • 0–2 years of experience in corporate FP&A, financial analysis, or a related finance role.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, especially accruals.
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) or planning tools (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, Hyperion) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills; able to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
  • Able to perform on-site inspections.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
