Supervisor, Warehouse

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring efficient daily operations within the warehouse to support Delta Utilities’ field and service teams. This position is responsible for leading a team of 5–8 employees, maintaining accurate inventory records, and promoting a culture of safety, organization, and high performance. The Supervisor will oversee the flow of materials and supplies, implement best practices, and ensure operational standards are consistently met.

Please Note: This position could reside at our Broussard, LA office, Lake Charles, LA office or our Shreveport, LA office. 


ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and schedule warehouse staff to ensure productivity and accuracy goals are met.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Delta’s warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and field operations teams to coordinate deliveries.
  • Enforce safety standards and promote a culture of safety across all warehouse activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Train and develop team members to ensure readiness and growth.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, etc


Minimum experience required of the position

  • 5 plus years of warehouse or logistics experience
  • Preferred: 1 plus year in a leadership or supervisory role


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and warehouse safety regulations.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification a plus).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
  • Able to perform on-site inspections.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.

  • Able to respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return to work while off duty.
  • Able to wear and operate personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily.
  • Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
  • May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.

Notice: As a safety sensitive position, compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) drug and alcohol regulations is required, including but not limited to pre-employment drug testing and background screening.
