Manager, Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Delta Utilities is seeking a Manager of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement will play a critical role in shaping our organizational culture during a period of significant growth and transition. This position will develop and implement strategic internal communications and employee engagement initiatives that inform, inspire, and connect our workforce. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who can translate company strategy into compelling narratives that drive employee understanding, commitment, and performance.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Communications
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports business objectives and organizational change
- Create clear, consistent messaging about company initiatives, particularly around our upcoming service territory expansion
- Manage multiple communication channels including intranet, email communications, digital signage, and in-person events
- Partner with senior leadership to craft communications that effectively convey company vision, strategy, and performance
- Serve as editor and content manager for company-wide communications, ensuring quality, consistency, and strategic alignment
- Measure the effectiveness of internal communications and continuously improve based on employee feedback and engagement metrics
Employee Engagement
- Partner with HR to design and implement employee engagement programs that strengthen company culture and increase workforce satisfaction
- Create opportunities for two-way dialogue between leadership and employees through town halls, listening sessions, and feedback mechanisms
- Develop recognition programs that celebrate employee achievements and reinforce company values
- Coordinate internal events that build community and connection among employees
- Conduct regular pulse surveys and other measurement tools to assess employee engagement and identify improvement opportunities
Change Management
- Support major organizational transitions through targeted communications and engagement strategies
- Develop change management communications plans for the integration of new service territories and employee populations
- Partner with operational teams to ensure consistent messaging about process changes and their impact on employees
- Create training and support materials to help employees navigate change effectively
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field
Minimum experience required of the position
- 5+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related fields
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
- Previous experience in utilities, energy, or regulated industries preferred
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing internal communications and engagement strategies
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management abilities and experience managing multiple priorities
- Experience with change management communication during organizational transitions
- Proficiency with digital communication platforms, intranet management, and content creation tools
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Creative problem-solver with a data-driven approach to measuring communications effectiveness

Physical Requirements
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
